The german company Periphere Computer Systeme (PCS) sold UNIX maschines named Cadmus. They were mostly used at german universities among them the Department of Mathematics at the University of Duisburg. It was my job to administrate them from 1985 to 1992. After that they were replaced by servers from Sun or HP.

Until 2016 I did not expect to see such machines again. But when the dutch computer museum Hack42 had to move to a different place Andreas S. was searching for a new place for 7 of those boxes [1][2]. I could not resist and so these machines found a new home at my place.

On this website I’m collecting informations about Cadmus-machines and do some blogging about my attempts to revive a Cadmus box.
